Iran (IMNA) - Afkham emphasized the active and pioneering role of women in Iran's development, condemning the resolution as biased. According to the official website of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she stated, “The clear trend of increasing social participation and dynamic presence of women in various social, economic, and political fields, supported by growing statistics and accurate documentation, reflect the realities of contemporary Iranian society.”
She further asserted that such biased resolutions cannot distort the positive trajectory of women's involvement in the Islamic Republic. Afkham highlighted global public anger, particularly in Europe, over continued support for regimes accused of crimes against humanity, noting that innocent women and children in Gaza represent the majority of casualties.
“Unfortunately, the European Parliament, which considers itself a symbol of democracy and a reflection of the concerns of the European people, has turned a blind eye to public protests against the dark record of the apartheid regime of Israel,” she lamented.
Afkham criticized the political motives behind such resolutions, stating that they misrepresent Iran's social developments. She urged the European institution to maintain credibility by reflecting public opinion and condemning the organized killing of innocent Palestinian women and children while calling for an end to crimes committed by Zionist leaders.
