Iran Calls on UN to Address Israeli Violations of Sovereignty

Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations has urged the UN Security Council, Secretary-General António Guterres, and the President of the General Assembly to take decisive action against what it describes as Israeli crimes violating Iran's sovereignty.

Iran (IMNA) - The mission announced on Friday that it submitted letters detailing a series of alleged offenses by Israel, including breaches of Iran's territorial integrity and acts of terrorism against Iranian citizens.

The letters call for urgent measures to halt these violations of international law and to hold those responsible accountable. This plea follows a series of assaults by Israel on military installations in Iran’s Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces on October 26, which resulted in the deaths of four Iranian servicemen and one civilian. The Iranian Armed Forces reported that these attacks were conducted using US-controlled airspace in Iraq.

In a meeting of the Security Council on October 28, Iran’s Ambassador to the UN, Amir Saeed Iravani, asserted that Iran reserves the right to respond to these aggressive actions at a time of its choosing. He emphasized that any response would be lawful and in accordance with international law.
