Iran's Foreign Minister Calls for UN Security Council Action Against Israel

Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that the United Nations Security Council has a responsibility to respond to the "Zionist regime's" ongoing aggression in Gaza and Lebanon with severe sanctions.

Iran (IMNA) - During a meeting with foreign diplomats in Tehran on Tuesday, Araghchi emphasized that the continued violence in these regions poses a significant threat to international peace and security.

He remarked, "No doubt that the continuation of the genocide in the Gaza Strip and the continuation of the Zionist regime's aggression against Lebanon and Syria… threaten international peace and security." Araghchi urged the international community to take decisive action against Israel, asserting that the Security Council must impose strict sanctions in accordance with Chapter VII of the UN Charter, which addresses threats to peace.

In light of the current critical situation, he highlighted the need for collective diplomatic efforts to halt what he described as the "aggression and crimes of the Zionist regime." He called for immediate measures from global leaders to stop attacks and facilitate humanitarian aid for those affected in Gaza and Lebanon.
