Russia Engages All Parties in West Asia Conflict to De-escalate Tensions

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Russia is actively maintaining contact with all parties involved in the West Asia conflict, emphasizing efforts to de-escalate the situation.

Iran (IMNA) - In a statement to reporters, Peskov confirmed, "We are in contact with Tehran, the Israelis, and the Palestinians," responding to inquiries from TASS.

Peskov highlighted Russia's commitment to urging restraint among the conflicting parties and facilitating efforts aimed at reducing tensions. "Of course, Russia is doing everything possible to call on the parties to exercise restraint," he stated, adding that the Kremlin will continue these efforts as the regional situation remains "very tense."

The announcement follows recent military actions, including Israeli strikes on Iranian military facilities reported on October 26. The Iranian Air Defense Force indicated that while military sites in Ilam, Tehran, and Khuzestan were targeted, only limited damage occurred due to effective air defenses. The Iranian military reported at least four service members killed in these strikes.

Tensions escalated earlier this month when Tehran launched a significant ballistic and hypersonic missile attack against Israel on October 1, in retaliation for the deaths of senior officials from Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. In response, Israeli military leadership vowed to plan a counterattack at an opportune moment, while Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned of even larger-scale retaliatory strikes against Israel.
