Iranian President Pezeshkian and PM Modi Discuss Bilateral Relations at BRICS Summit

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in talks on Tuesday in Kazan, Russia, during the 16th annual BRICS Summit.

Iran (IMNA) - The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and addressing developments in the West Asia region.

During their meeting, Pezeshkian emphasized Iran's commitment to de-escalation and preventing the spread of conflict, stating that Tehran does not seek war. Modi later shared his thoughts on X in Farsi, expressing that he had a "very good meeting" with President Pezeshkian. He noted that they examined a wide range of bilateral issues and explored ways to deepen relations in advanced and innovative sectors.

This meeting marked the first interaction between the two leaders since Pezeshkian took office in July 2024. The leaders also discussed key areas of cooperation, including the Chabahar Port and the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), which are vital for regional connectivity.
