Hungary's Ambassador Summoned by Iran Over EU Statement

The Hungarian ambassador to Iran, Giola Peto, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran in response to a recent statement from the European Union and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC).

Iran (IMNA) - This statement reiterated claims regarding three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf.

During the meeting, the Director General of the Western Europe Department at Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of all countries, including EU member states, adhering to international law and respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of nations. He condemned the EU's support for what he described as baseless and illegal claims against Iran's territorial integrity.
