Iran (IMNA) - The general's body arrived in the capital earlier that day, drawing a significant turnout of Iranian statesmen and military officials who attended a welcoming ceremony at Mehrabad International Airport.
General Nilforoushan lost his life during severe Israeli airstrikes on Dahiyeh, which also resulted in the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Hezbollah. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed in a statement that the general’s body was recovered following extensive search efforts after he was killed on September 27.
The IRGC's statement highlighted the tragic circumstances of Nilforoushan's death alongside Nasrallah and announced that a funeral ceremony would be conducted upon his return to Iran.
