Iran and France Discuss Ceasefire Amid Escalating Conflict in Lebanon

In a phone conversation on Sunday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the urgent need for a ceasefire in Lebanon amidst the ongoing conflict with the Israeli regime.

Iran (IMNA) - Pezeshkian emphasized Iran's longstanding desire for a peaceful region free from war, stating that Iran welcomes any efforts aimed at establishing a ceasefire and cessation of hostilities.

Pezeshkian criticized the Israeli actions, claiming that "the Zionists have shown complete disregard for humanitarian frameworks and international laws," while intensifying their military operations. He called on France to join other European nations in pressuring Israel to halt what he described as genocide and war crimes in both Gaza and Lebanon.

Furthermore, Pezeshkian acknowledged the recent positive steps taken by the French government, which included condemning Israeli actions in Lebanon and suspending arms shipments to Israel. He reiterated Iran's support for any proposal that aims to foster peace and stability in the region, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in addressing these escalating tensions.
