Iran Condemns U.S. and U.K. Military Actions in Yemen

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, has condemned the latest military attacks launched by the United States and the United Kingdom on Yemen, labeling them as a clear violation of the United Nations Charter and fundamental international law principles.

Iran (IMNA) - He emphasized that the Israeli regime is a primary source of insecurity in the West Asia region.

Baghaei called for an end to the aggression against Lebanon and Gaza, asserting that halting Israeli "barbaric crimes" is essential for restoring peace and stability in the region. He further stated that the actions taken by Yemenis and other Islamic nations in response to the Zionist regime's actions against Palestinians, Lebanese, and Syrians are a natural reaction to the violence inflicted upon their communities.

Yemenis have expressed their unwavering support for Palestine amidst escalating tensions following Israel's devastating war on Gaza, which began on October 7 after Palestinian Resistance movements executed a surprise attack named Operation Al-Aqsa Storm. The Yemeni Armed Forces declared they would continue their operations until Israel's ground and aerial offensives in Gaza cease, which have reportedly resulted in at least 27,948 deaths and 67,459 injuries.

In December, the United States and Britain announced a military coalition aimed at targeting Yemen in support of Israel, exacerbating regional tensions.
