Iran (IMNA) - During his visit, which comes in the wake of escalating tensions and violence, Araghchi expressed condolences for the martyrdom of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and other leaders of the Axis of Resistance. Berri praised Iran's supportive actions during the recent aggression by the Israeli regime, highlighting the steadfast determination of the Lebanese nation in resisting Israeli attacks.
Araghchi reiterated that Iran's comprehensive support for Lebanon aligns with the Islamic Republic's commitment to maintaining regional peace and stability. He stated that Iran aims to counter the expansionist policies of Israel and to halt what he described as a genocidal war in Gaza.
The foreign minister called on Islamic nations to adopt a more proactive role in pressuring Israel, asserting that all Islamic and Arab countries have a moral obligation to prevent further violations of Lebanon's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, confirmed Araghchi's arrival in Beirut, noting that he is accompanied by two members of parliament and the head of the Red Crescent Society. The Iranian foreign minister's trip comes despite an Israeli ban on flights to Lebanon by Iranian aircraft.
As the situation unfolds, Araghchi's visit underscores Iran's commitment to supporting its allies in Lebanon while addressing broader regional security concerns.
