Iran Warns of Consequences Following Martyrdom of Hezbollah Leader

Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has issued a stern warning regarding the dangerous repercussions of Israel's recent aggressive actions against Lebanon, which resulted in the martyrdom of Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of the Hezbollah Resistance Movement.

Iran (IMNA) - In meetings with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Security Council President Philemon Young, Araghchi emphasized the United Nations' responsibility to take urgent action to safeguard regional and international peace and security. He criticized the UN Security Council for its failure to implement effective measures or even issue a statement condemning what he termed Israel's genocide and aggression.

Araghchi highlighted the legal and moral obligations of both the UN Secretary-General and the President of the General Assembly to mobilize the international community against the actions of the occupying Israeli regime. He described the ongoing obstruction by the United States in the Security Council as "illegal and shameful," asserting that it prevents any moves to compel Israel to cease its violent actions in Gaza and Lebanon.

The Foreign Minister accused the United States of being complicit in Israeli crimes, particularly pointing out that US-supplied mortar bombs were used in attacks on Resistance leaders. He reaffirmed Iran's commitment to defend its vital interests and national security against Israeli aggression, stating that the path of resistance will continue unabated.

Araghchi concluded by asserting that Israel's actions would only strengthen regional resolve to assert their inalienable rights and confront its aggressions.
