Iran, Mexico Reinforce Commitment to Political Dialogue Amid Regional Tensions

In a significant diplomatic exchange, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Mexican counterpart Alicia Bárcena engaged in a phone conversation on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of ongoing political talks and consultations between their nations.

Iran (IMNA) - During the call, Bárcena congratulated Araghchi on his recent appointment as Iran's top diplomat, expressing her best wishes for his success in this role. She highlighted the hope that Tehran and Mexico City would continue their political dialogues.

Bárcena also reiterated Mexico's support for the Palestinian people, advocating for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the violence in Gaza.

In response, Araghchi thanked Bárcena for her sentiments and underscored the necessity of strengthening bilateral relations. He called for the continuation of political discussions between the two countries, reaffirming Iran's support for any ceasefire agreement endorsed by the Palestinian nation and Resistance groups regarding the ongoing conflict with Israel.
