Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Attend BRICS Summit in Russia, Meet with Putin

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to visit Russia in October to participate in the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan.

Iran (IMNA) - The visit comes following an official invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin, as confirmed by Iranian Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali.

Ambassador Jalali stated, "I believe he will participate in the BRICS summit in Kazan. We are currently preparing for this visit so that it will be useful and successful for our bilateral relations." During the summit, Pezeshkian is expected to meet with Putin and engage in discussions with other leaders, as well as address the Iranian community.

The 16th BRICS summit is scheduled for October 22-24, 2024, and will focus on economic cooperation and global development. Russia, which holds the BRICS presidency this year, is organizing over 200 events related to various topics. Iran officially joined the BRICS group on January 1, 2024, further solidifying its ties with this influential international coalition.
