IRGC Arrests Member of Jaish al-Adl Terror Group in Southeast Iran

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) successfully apprehended a member associated with the militant faction known as Jaish al-Adl in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

Iran (IMNA) - The arrest operation was conducted in the Pishin District of Rask County within the province, as confirmed by the IRGC on Saturday.

Special mention was made of the swift intervention by the Quds Headquarters of the IRGC's Ground Force in Sistan and Baluchestan, facilitated by prior intelligence surveillance.

In an attempt to evade capture, the apprehended terrorist inflicted a self-inflicted gunshot wound upon himself. Despite this, he was promptly taken to a hospital for medical attention and is currently under care.

The individual in custody has a history of engaging in armed assaults against the Basij volunteer force headquarters and the police station in Pishin, according to the official report.

Earlier in May, the IRGC's Ground Force had apprehended key sponsors linked to the Jaish al-Adl terrorist outfit in Sistan and Baluchestan following separate coordinated operations by intelligence and security personnel.

Jaish al-Adl, known for its extremist activities, is based in Pakistan and has been implicated in a series of violent attacks targeting Iran.

One of the most recent incidents occurred in April when members of the group carried out an assault resulting in the deaths of at least five police officers in the province.
