In a live broadcast on Saturday evening, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of national unity among various political factions to effectively serve the populace.

Iran (IMNA) - This address, aired on IRIB Channel One and other networks from 10 to 11 p.m., marked Pezeshkian's first public speech since taking office nearly a month ago.

Pezeshkian opened by expressing that the satisfaction of the Iranian people with his administration's policies is paramount. He urged political groups to prioritize collaboration over differences, stating, "So far, we have made our utmost efforts to form a national unity government." He highlighted that his cabinet includes members from the previous administrations of Martyr Ebrahim Raeisi and Hassan Rouhani, as well as reformists.

Addressing economic challenges, Pezeshkian assured that his economic team is working collaboratively to alleviate inflation and other financial issues through strategic planning. Pezeshkian announced plans to hold his inaugural press conference with journalists next week. He also called for equitable opportunities in university entrance exams, stressing that justice must be upheld for students from both developed and underdeveloped regions. Furthermore, he pledged to address the challenges faced by farmers, teachers, and healthcare workers.

Regarding his upcoming international engagements, Pezeshkian revealed that Iraq would be his first visit, followed by attendance at the UN General Assembly in New York in September. He concluded by stating that his administration will develop a comprehensive program for cyberspace and social media.
