Iranian FM Denies Allegation of Iranian Serviceman Training Russian Forces on Ukrainian Soil

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan'ani has refuted claims suggesting that an Iranian military officer was providing training to Russian forces while on Ukrainian territory.

Iran (imna) - Kan'ani emphasized Iran's firm stance against war, calling for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and the cessation of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.

He dismissed the allegations as politically motivated and lacking in substance, asserting that they are contradictory to Iran's consistent approach towards the situation in Ukraine.

These statements from Kan'ani followed comments by Ukraine's prosecutor general, Andriy Kostin, who announced the initiation of a case against a general from the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) over suspicions of assisting Russia in warfare and committing war crimes against Ukraine.

Kostin claimed that an investigation revealed a purported agreement between Russia and Iran for the acquisition of Shahed-136 and Mohajer-6 attack drones, along with associated equipment, between July and August 2022.

Iran has repeatedly and vehemently denied any involvement in the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, standing firm against the accusations leveled against the country.
