Iran, Qatar pledge to enhance ties as Pezeshkian urges Islamic unity

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Tehran on Monday, emphasizing the need to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

Iran (IMNA) - The Iranian leader described the current state of Iran-Qatar ties as "privileged" and called for enhanced cooperation in all fields.

During the meeting, Pezeshkian reiterated his support for Islamic unity, urging the international community to condemn Israel's crimes against Palestinians and calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. He criticized the international community's contradictory stance on the issue, stating that human rights and international laws are repeatedly violated in Gaza.

Qatari Prime Minister Al Thani congratulated Pezeshkian on his election victory and expressed his country's commitment to expanding fraternal and strategic relations with Iran. He praised Iran's constructive approach to regional and international issues and announced Qatar's readiness to cooperate with Iran in advancing that approach.

The meeting between the two leaders came as tensions persist in the region, with both countries seeking to strengthen their ties and promote regional stability.
