Iran denies visit by US delegation, slams US support for Israeli regime

In a statement, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan'ani rejected claims of a visit by an American delegation to Iran, calling the reports "baseless".

Iran (IMNA) - Kan'ani also criticized the US for supporting Israel, saying that any party that supports crimes against the Palestinian people must be aware of the consequences.

Kan'ani's remarks came after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) revealed that Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated by Israeli agents in Tehran on Wednesday. The IRGC accused the Israeli regime and the US government of supporting the terrorist operation, which involved a short-range projectile with a warhead of about 7 kilograms.

The IRGC vowed to avenge Haniyeh's blood, saying that the terrorist Zionist regime will face severe punishment at the appropriate time and place. Kan'ani echoed this sentiment, stating that the IRGC considers the Israeli regime to be the direct agent and first responsible for the assassination, and that any party that supports such crimes must accept the consequences.
