Iran and Russia diplomats meet in Moscow to boost bilateral relations

Senior diplomats from Iran and Russia held a meeting in the Russian capital yesterday to discuss ways to strengthen their bilateral relations. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, a gathering of leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

Iran (IMNA) - Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan'ani met with his Russian counterpart Maria Zakharova to review the friendly and constructive relations between the two countries. The two diplomats discussed ways to enhance media cooperation and public and cultural diplomacy, with a focus on deepening their already strong ties.

In addition to his meeting with Zakharova, Kan'ani also held talks with his counterparts from Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates, discussing bilateral ties and cooperation between Iran and each of those countries.

The meeting comes as Iran seeks to strengthen its economic and political ties with other nations in the region. The country has been working to expand its partnerships with countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, in addition to its traditional relationships with European and Asian powers.
