Thousands Receive Relief in Flood-Stricken Iranian Province

More than 10,080 flood-stricken individuals in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan-Baluchestan have been provided with relief in the past few days, according to Mohammad Mehdi Sajjadi, the managing director of the provincial Red Crescent Society.

Iran (IMNA) - Recent heavy rainfall has caused flooding in several counties and villages within the province, leading to the dispatch of 289 teams to assess damages and provide relief and temporary shelters to affected individuals.

According to Mohammad Hassan Nami, head of Iran’s national crisis management organization, 16 counties and 1,947 villages in Sistan-Baluchestan have been impacted by the floods since February 28. In response to the situation, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Hossein Salami emphasized the importance of delivering timely services to the affected areas during a telephone conversation with provincial officials.
