Ongoing Conflict in Gaza: Humanitarian Crisis Deepens as Death Toll Rises, Hospitals Suspend Operations

In a recent statement, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian expressed that Israel experienced a collapse on October 7th following a surprise attack launched by the Palestinian resistance.

Iran (IMNA) - He further emphasized that Israel is currently being sustained by what he referred to as "US's life support."

Amir-Abdollahian shared his views on the ongoing conflict, stating that the world is witnessing a comprehensive American offensive against Gaza. Taking to his X account late on Sunday, he wrote, "The Israeli regime collapsed on Oct. 7 and is now alive on American artificial respiration."

Additionally, he mentioned a recent phone conversation with Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, during which he conveyed that "today is our test day."

Cairo plans to open the Rafah crossing on Gaza's southern border with Egypt in order to provide much-needed humanitarian assistance, such as water and medicine, to the war-torn population in the region. The decision comes after Israel launched a fierce military campaign on October 7, in response to Hamas' Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity.

Tragically, the death toll among Palestinians as a result of Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip has reached 11,180, including 4,609 children and 3,100 women. Additionally, over 28,000 individuals have been injured during the regime's relentless military offensive.

The Tel Aviv government's blockade on Gaza has further exacerbated the situation, cutting off access to vital resources such as water, food, and electricity. As a result, the territory is facing a severe humanitarian crisis. The dire conditions have forced 22 hospitals and 49 health centers in Gaza to suspend their operations due to Israeli attacks and a shortage of fuel required to power generators.
