Iran (IMNA) - Amir-Abdollahian urged the international community to take more serious actions to halt Israel's criminal acts and genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Lavrov emphasized that Russia and Iran share a common stance on the critical situation in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, which has been under Israeli attacks since October 7.
Lavrov also expressed worry that the escalation of the conflict could lead to an uncontrollable situation. As of Friday, after 28 days of Israel's genocidal air attacks on the Gaza Strip, the death toll has reached at least 9,227 people, including 3,826 children and more than 2,405 women. Additionally, at least 23,516 people have been wounded.
The war was initiated by the Israeli regime on October 7 following Gaza's resistance groups' major operation, known as Operation al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity. Earlier on Friday, Amir-Abdollahian held separate phone talks with Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Mekdad and Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
