Iran (IMNA) - This homegrown satellite, carried by the Qased satellite carrier, was successfully placed in low Earth orbit at an altitude of 450 kilometers. Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Issa Zarepour, expressed his congratulations to the Iranian people, the country's space industry, and the IRGC's space experts for their successful endeavor. He also expressed optimism for the future, hoping that this year will bring further achievements in Iran's space industry.
According to Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, Iran is planning to launch a minimum of two domestically-produced satellites into space this year. Despite facing sanctions from Western nations, Iran has made significant progress in its civilian space program and is now ranked among the top 10 countries in terms of satellite development and launch capabilities. In March of last year, the IRGC Aerospace Force successfully launched the Nour-2 satellite into orbit using the Qased satellite carrier, two years after the successful launch of Nour-1.
