Iran (IMNA) - According to a study released on Monday, Iran's oil output, which includes crude oil, condensate, and natural gas liquids (NGL), increased by 4.6% last year compared to 2021, reaching an average of 3.822 million barrels per day (bpd).
Based on the research, Iran's total output of crude oil and condensate, a very light kind of oil, increased by 129,000 bpd or 4.1% in 2022 over the previous year.
Iran's output of natural gas liquids (NGL) also increased by an average of 40,000 bpd or 8.5% from 2021 to 509,000 bpd last year.
As the report indicated, gasoline production at Iranian refineries increased by 2.2% year on year in 2022 to 2.397 million bpd, while oil refining capacity increased by 2.3% to 2.67 million bpd over the same year.
According to EI data, natural gas output in Iran reached 259.4 billion cubic meters last year, up 1.1% from 2021.
As of 2023, the EI has taken over publishing of the Statistical Review of World Energy, a report previously published by oil and gas supermajor bp for more than 70 years.
The EI research backs up previous comments by Iranian government officials that the country has managed to enhance crude oil output and exports despite US sanctions that prohibit any overseas sales of Iranian oil shipments.
