Iran | (IMNA) - Brigadier General Qasem Rezaei cautioned the deluded people who are following in the enemies' footsteps during the burial service for border guards in Sistan and Baluchestan's province capital, Zahedan, that they "will definitely get a decisive and firm response wherever it is necessary."
Five border guards were killed in fighting with armed terrorists and anti-Islamic Revolution militants in Saravan County on Saturday.
"Today, police forces are more determined, and you will hear about vengeance in the near future," Rezae warned.
The deputy police commander further stressed that such instances will not sever ties between Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, since the three countries have long-standing ties.
"Pakistan has sent a message that it will deal decisively with the perpetrators of the terrorist attack, and this is the final message," he added.
In addition, the chief of the Iranian border police encouraged neighboring nations to follow the idea of good neighborliness and not allow disruptive actions on their territory.
The Brigadier General Ahmad-Ali Goudarzi stated, "Our tolerance has limits.
Sistan and Baluchestan has had a number of terror incidents in recent years that have targeted both security personnel and civilians. Conflicts between Iranian soldiers and terrorist organizations as well as drug traffickers have centered around Saravan.
Farah Azeem Shah, the spokesperson for the Baluchistan Government in Pakistan, denounced the terrorist assault in Saravan on Sunday.
