Bahman Ghobadi’s “The Four Walls” Stars Granted Tokyo Film Festival Best Actor Award

“The Four Walls” cast directed by Bahman Ghobadi and produced by Roger Waters have received the Best Actor Award in the 34th Tokyo International Film Festival of Japan.

Iran (IMNA) - “The Four Walls”, Bahman Ghobadi’s latest feature film produced by the well-known English musician, singer/songwriter Roger Waters, is a joint production of Turkey and England, starring Amir Aghaei along with a number of acclaimed Turkish actors, with its world premiere in the main competition category of the 34th edition of Tokyo International Film Festival. Four actors namely, the Iranian star Amir Aghaei, the Turkish Baris Yildiz, and two Kurd stars Fatih Al and Onor Boldu appearing in this film have been awarded the best actor prize in this prestigious cinematic event.

In a video message for the closing ceremony of Tokyo International Film Festival, Amir Aghaei said, “I thank the jury for choosing me. I thank Mr. Roger Waters for having faith in me, giving this role to me, always supporting me. I thank the landless Bahman Ghobadi, hoping that one of these days he may return to his homeland and make the films he loves. I thank our producer Gökçe for the immense support. I thank “The Four Walls” cast; Funda Eryigit, Baris Yildiz, Onur Buldu, and Fatih Al, for welcoming me to their team as an Iranian playing a Kurd. Years back, when I was studying Istanbul Turkish, I could never imagine that one day it may come in handy. Thank you, and I dedicate this award to the stars of Turkish cinema.
