Iran (IMNA) - Referring to the process of pushing vaccination for Isfahani taxi drivers against Covid-19, Hadi Manouchehri said, "According to the Ministry of Health and Medical Education announcement, drivers active in the public transport fleet are in the third priority to receive the COVID -19 vaccines. "
He continued,"Due to the delay in the distribution of vaccines, we faced some challenges in the vaccination processes, and with the efforts of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the provincial Headquarters for Coronavirus Control, vaccines allocated to the people involved in taxi fleet are being accessible again."
Regarding the reopening of schools and the need to vaccinate school transport drivers, The CEO of Isfahan Municipality's Taxi Management and Supervision Organization noted, "we have not made ultimate decision regarding the activities of the school transport services; however, we are ready to provide services after reopening the schoolds. "
Isfahan's vaccine programme has been expanded to include more priority groups including taxi drivers as fears grow over the rumors about vaccine shortages.
Drivers in transportation fleet face greater risk of exposure as they are in close proximity to strangers; so, they should be considered as high priority in terms of getting a jab.
