Iran (IMNA) - Mohammad Mehdi Tavakoli stated, "One of the goals for promoting the national and international status of Isfahan is to focus on the development of tourism, culture and art, enhancing handicraft marketing, planning and establishing a permanent tourism hub backed by related bodies."
Emphasizing the need to improve the quantity and quality of urban spaces, attractions and various events, he added, designing and setting up a market for offering inlaid artworks, the construction of Arghavanieh handicrafts town, as well as creating interactive exhibitions and workshops in urban areas are other initiatives to promote Isfahan's national and international status."
The head of Isfahan Municipality's Performance Evaluation and Planning task force continued, "In this regard, taking measures such as creating ideas and making special gifts to introduce Isfahan, building a cultural theater complex in Chaharbagh Abbasi pedestrian zone, completing the reconstruction of the streets leading to Chaharbagh Abbasi Avenue, completing the reconstruction of the historical tourism axis of Isfahan siting between Si-o-se-pol and Shariati crossroad, with pedestrian priority approach is on the agenda."
Tavakoli emphasized on setting up museums in Isfahan, and noted, "Development, construction and inauguration of Isfahan museums of Food, Handicrafts and Amani Museum (private collectors), community-based tourism, revitalization of tourism complexes including Monar Jonban, Atashgah Mountain and surrounding areas (Pigeon Tower, Jannat Park, Mohammad Alikhan Mansion) with emphasis on the prosperity of local bazaars, revitalization of the tourism context in the central part of the city (Dardasht, Bidabad, Jobareh Jamaleh) are among the goals set to promote the national and international status of Isfahan focusing on the development of tourism, cultural and artistic perspectives."
