Iran (IMNA) - Mayor of Shiraz, Heidar Eskandarpour, posted an Instagram message that reads as follows:
"Dear citizens of Shiraz,
The secretariat of the World City of Handicrafts has been opened to glorify the Atlas of this ancient land’s artists. With the co-operation of the city council, we have created a new opportunity for Shiraz that is the World City Handicrafts branding. It should be noted that the complex development process of cities such as Shiraz, which are internationally well - known, is not possible through instrumental perspectives; rather in the light of wealth creation, employment, and strengthening the urban economy, Shiraz as an ancient territory would be reached to a worthy position. Designating the title of World City Handicrafts for Shiraz implies that the handicrafts which are made by Iranian artists can be presented globally.
After winning titles such as Iran’s Book Capital and the National City of bicycle, now it is time to establish the secretariat of the World City of Handicrafts in Shiraz. At the same time, 32 projects are being implemented in historical context of Shiraz; also other plans will be started during the first six months of the year. Always, progress calls for companionship, compassion and compatibility.”
