Iran (IMNA) - Ghodratollah Norouzi noted, "Isfahan has a high carrying capacity for tourism, and achieving the goals of tourism development depends on holding exhibitions; Expo 2020 Dubai can provide the context on attracting more tourists to visit Kish, Qeshm and Isfahan."
He added, "The effort of city managers in recent years have been focused on supporting Isfahan as a tourism growth driver. Fortunately, today we have been able to shine in the field of establishing diplomatic relations with sister cities and partnering with international organizations."
Touching on the launch of Isfahan's International Exhibition, the mayor of Isfahan, noted: "This capacity was developed in the city so that Isfahan can play a role in the international arena as it deserves; the achievement of the exhibition will be improving people's lives and the growth and prosperity of Isfahan."
Expo 2020 is a World Expo to be hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, originally scheduled for 20 October 2020 – 10 April 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the new dates are 1 October 2021 – 31 March 2022.[3] Despite being postponed, organizers will keep the name Expo 2020 for marketing and branding purposes.
The main site of Expo 2020 Dubai will be a 438-hectare area (1083 acres) located between the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, near Dubai's southern border with Abu Dhabi.
Expo 2020 aims to increase awareness about the challenges faced by humanity on a global scale. It is the world's largest meeting place and offers many opportunities such as networking and promoting international relationships. Expo 2020 will consist of individual pavilions where countries will be displaying their national cultures and technological inventions.
The Expo theme is ' Connecting Minds, Creating the Future ', which recognizes that generating sustainable solutions to global problems demands collaboration across cultures and regions whilst the subthemes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability define the principal drivers of progress.
