Isfahan, Florence to reinforce relations

The mayor of Florence wrote in a letter to the mayor of Isfahan that reads as follows, "we intend to strengthen the close relationship between the two cities of Isfahan and Florence as much as possible, and to initiate new projects in the best interest of both."

Iran (IMNA) -"Dario Nardella", the mayor of Florence, wrote a letter to Ghodratollah Norouzi, the mayor of Isfahan, in which he stressed the need to strengthen the relationship between the two sister cities.

The letter reads as follows, "Unfortunately, Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 has left deep scars around the world. Some people lost their lives, and economic and social crises turned up which are still in place across the world. "

"Florence in known as the cradle of Humanism in the world. I want to assure you that we intend to strengthen the close relationship between the two cities of Isfahan and Florence as much as possible, and to initiate new projects in the best interest of both."

Expressing hope that 2021 would open a new window to the revival of societies, cultures, economies and all that this pandemic has taken away from us, the mayor of Florence, the Italian sister city of Isfahan, continued, "Now, to confront the unprecedented challenge, we must look forward and take practical steps to regain hope. Hence, it is important to believe that in the future of humanity, we will be able to make progress in bringing peace, health, prosperity and a brighter future for all human beings by preserving core values. "

The sister-city agreement between Isfahan and Italy's Florence was signed in 1998. The mayors of Isfahan Mohammad Ali Javadi and Florence Mario Primicerio conducted the memorandum of understanding to promote relations between Iran and Italy through making friendly bonds between the two cities.

Exchanging cultural delegations and economic cooperation are the most important axes of the Isfahan-Florence twinning agreement.
