Iran Coronavirus: 2,089 New Cases and 128 Deaths

Iran's Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat-Lari said on Sunday that 128 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 23,157.

‌‌‌‌‌‌Iran (IMNA) - Some 2,089 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, some 956 of whom have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

She went on to say that Iran has a total of 402,029 confirmed cases, 346,242 of whom have been cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 28 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 925 thousand; however, more than 20 million people have recovered.
