Iran (IMNA) - While many scientists across the world are working on developing a Coronavirus vaccine, some people are finding various ways to curb the Coronavirus pandemic; there are artists using their works to show solidarity with people impacted by the virus.
Amir-Reza Torkaman-Rahmani, an Iranian young cartoonist who has won valuable awards at various international cartoon festivals, is one of the creative artists taking cartoons to express statements of solidarity.
"I believe that visual artists in general and cartoonists in particular can play crucial roles in pandemic situation like Coronavirus outbreak; their artworks can breathe a new life to healthcare workers' mood and cheer them up," said Amir-Reza Torkaman-Rahmani.
One of the cartoon festivals that has been set up in the fight against Corona is the 22nd Porto Cartoon World Festival 2020, titled “Humor Fights Covid-19,” to which two of Torkaman –Rahmani’s cartoons have been sent.
"The first artwork is about people's power to fight the Coronavirus depicting a hand coming out of the virus holding a needle; this is the sign of empathy for doctors and involved authorities, and also upholding principles," Torkaman-Rahman continued.
"The second one showing healthcare staffs, who are now at the forefront in the prevention and control of the epidemic," he continued.
Amir-Reza Torkaman-Rahmani’s artworks have previously been published in Union of World Cartoonists (UWC) magazine.
