Iran (IMNA) - A series of stunning sculptures designed and created by Italian artist, Lorenzo Quinn. These 2.5 meter sculptures which are called “The Force of Nature” depict a woman rotating the world around by a piece of cloth.
This woman is nobody but Mother Nature. In fact, Mother Nature is a kind of personification of nature in the form of a mother and the idea of personification of Earth as a goddess can be traced to Ancient Greece.
In these series of sculptures, Mother Nature (woman) controls the earth and in other words, she is the navigator of the earth and vigorous sense of motion is felt by draping her attire and hair behind her.
“After having seen the ravaged coast of Thailand and the Hurricane that affected the Southern States, I decided to create a sculpture dedicated to Mother Nature,” Quinn explains on his website. “This would be reminiscent of the early statues made as peace offerings to the gods in the hope of quenching their anger.”
Force of Nature ,in slightly different versions, have been displayed around the world in different countries such as: England, the United States, Monaco and Singapore.
