Isfahan (IMNA) - "The Hasht Behesht Palace is one of the very few mansions of the late Safavid era that displays uncommon architectural and decorative arts," Fereydoun Allah Yari, director general of the province's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, said.
"The strengthening of the "girih tiles" of the eastern porch of the palace, the lathing of the two double-glazed at the eastern portio, as well as the prevention of the penetration of the bird excrement to the ornamented roof is now running by the supervision of the General Directorate," he said.
Girih tiles are a set of five tiles that were used in the creation of Islamic geometric patterns using strap work (girih) for decoration of buildings in Islamic architecture.
Regarding the specific characteristics of the mansion, Allah Yari added, "the presence of a wooden structure, which is considered to be the most beautiful forms of the Safavid centric architecture, has made the mansion to be attractive to every tourist and researcher.
