Iran- (IMNA) – Pointing to the Tajik people's interest to enhance the bilateral cooperation in tourism industry with Iran, Vali Teymouri, deputy head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handcraft and Tourism Organization for tourism affairs said, "considering our common cultural backgrounds, we held talks on developing the cooperative tourism relationships with Tajikistan's deputy head of Tourism Organization."
"Despite the fact that tourism exchanges between the two countries will be increased in the future, the contradictions in writing system of Farsi, the common language of the two countries for verbal communication, have been a challenge in reaching the most favorable results," Vali Teymouri said.
Tajikistan is not Iran's main priority markets for tourism; however, in talks with the Tajik counterpart, it was emphasized that in the first step, we aim to introduce Iran through coordinating recreational tours for Tajik media and tourism activists.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Iran and Tajikistan have enjoyed a close and strong relationship in many fields. Iran was one of the first countries that developed its diplomatic relations with the newly independent Tajikistan.
Like Iran, rich cultural heritage, hospitality and abundance of mountainous regions, rivers, lakes and recreational opportunities in Tajikistan have been contributed to the development of the country’s tourism industry.
During the recent years, Tajik officials have focused on tourism topics to make more advantage of the growing industry. However, there is still some challenges in this regard due to the undeveloped infrastructures and low services quality in this country.
