Iran (IMNA) - This complex contains 18 palaces belonged to Qajar and Pahlavi royal families that was built by Qajar monarchs in the 19th century. After extensive expansion, Reza Shah Pahlavi resided there in the 1920s. Thereafter, his son, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, moved there in the 1970s and after the 1970 revolution, this complex became a museum; today, the official residence of Iran’s President is adjacent to Sa’dabad complex.
Sa’dabad Complex is the home of beautiful galleries, mansions, museums and numerous main buildings such as:
- The Green Palace (also known as the Shahvand House), the house of Reza Shah
- The White Palace (Mellat Museum), the summer house of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and Farah Diba
- Ahmad Shahi Palace, house of Ahmad Shah Qajar
- The Special House, currently used by the presidency organization
- Asvad Palace, the building used as the “Museum of Fine Arts”
- Shams Palace, “The Royal Clothing Museum”
- House of Farahnaz and Alireza, “MirEmad Calligraphy Museum”
- Shahram Palace, “The Military Museum”
