Iran (IMNA) – Pointing out that the 40 year- old polluted soil and remained waste oils around the refinery have been considered as an unsolvable problem, Seyed Rahman Daniali said, "A two-year research plan has been presented by the professors of Payam-e Noor University of Isfahan to restore the waste oil. After two years of researches, implementing this plan as a pilot was effective."
"As a result of this research plan, waste oil will be used as the primary feedstock to produce cement that is effective in saving energy; also, the surrounding of the refinery has been cleared by implementing this project," he continued.
"The technology plan of using oil sludge in the process of cement production was implemented after two years of research for the first time as a pilot in Isfahan refinery in 2017, with the cooperation of Payam-e Noor University and under the direct supervision of Isfahan's department of Environmental Protection. The plan will be implemented this year by receiving the necessary licenses from the responsible authorities on an industrial scale with the annual capacity of 500 tons in Ardestan cement factory. The main purposes of this plan are protecting the environment and reducing the production costs.
