Iran extends sympathy to Indonesia over deadly tsunami

Bahram Qassemi, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, has extended his condolences to the victims of the tsunami tragedy in Indonesia’s Sunda Strait.

Isfahan (IMNA) - In a Sunday statement, Qassemi expressed Iran's sympathies to the families of the deceased as well as Indonesian government. Till now, at least 222 death, with hundreds more injured and missing have been reported after deadly anger of the nature happened without warning into beaches around Sunda Strait.

The deadly tsunami appears to cause by the sudden displacement of water or "slope failure". Many buildings have been destroyed by the power of waves, which hit the coast of southern Sumatra and the western strip of Java on Saturday after a volcano known as the "child" of Krakatoa erupted.  No foreigners have been found to have been killed so far.
