Isfahan (IMNA) - Dried nuts, pomegranates and watermelons are the main ingredients of the Yalda night. Furthermore, reciting great Iranian poet Hafez poems in this night is believed to bring luckiness.
The pomegranate held a great position for Ancient Persian because they believed that the dark red outer covering of a pomegranate represents the birth or dawn, and the bright red seeds symbolize the glow of life. Yalda night is strongly known with the pomegranate and watermelon because our ancestors thought that by eating summer fruits in this night, they wouldn’t fall ill during the winter.
Every year, Iranians swarming into the market to purchase nuts, fruits and gifts to adore their Yalda tables. Now annual organic food exhibition has made it easy to buy the symbolic fruits and nuts special to this night.
The exhibition of organic food products supported by Tehran's municipality and with the cooperation of Iran Organic Association will run for one week till December 21.
