Isfahan (IMNA) – "As the trend of arresting the smugglers of the historical antiques continues, and as soon as getting any related information from the cultural heritage lovers concerning buying and selling some antique objects and also after conducting the initial measures and verifying the accuracy of news, protection unit of Isfahan province has started their extensive investigation in this regard by forming an elite team," Brigadier General Amir Rahmatollahi, the commander of the protection unit of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism organization said.
"After several days of intelligence work in a laborious manner with the unceasing efforts in order to identify people involved in smuggling the historical antiques with the cooperation of law and judicial enforcement agents, 38 pieces of historical coins, 2 metal pins (hairpin), and 8 arrowheads were seized in an unexpected mission by going to one of the antique smuggler's house," he added. "Following the technical investigation of the Cultural Heritage Department, the originality of the discovered objects was confirmed, and it is estimated that they are from the Parthian era and the early Islam, and the 34 pieces of the discovered coins dates back to the recent Islam," he also said.
