Isfahan (IMNA) - Pointing to the achievements of holding the first joint meeting of women in the Islamic city councils of Isfahan entitled challenges and opportunities of the presence and role of women in urban management, Farideh Roshan said, “Fortunately, the attitude of high authorities has changed toward the presence of women in society to undertake different responsibilities.”
“We should pay attention that women in small cities are now facing more challenges in comparison to the women in big cities, this fact makes the work harder for the women; any way, the presence of women in society has positive effects on public participation in social activities,” she said.
Stating that women account for 50% of the total population of the country, Roshan added, “We should pay attention that women have a comprehensive view over social issues, and whenever they are involved in decision-making, they can take the city out of a masculine state and make them more suitable for everybody especially women, children, and disabled people.”
