IMNA News Agency quotes Ahmad Rezvani at the swearing-in ceremony of the 5th Council's board of directors: I congratulate the official launch of Isfahan City Council coincided with the start of the 12th government.
He explained: 719 men and 128 women had announced their readiness to be elected as the City Council members. Their qualifications were thereafter evaluated at long meetings. After some withdrawals, 639 people were allowed as final nominees. At last, people of Isfahan elected 13 of them through the glorious election on May 19, 2017.
"I do thank all the supervising organs including the urban, provincial organs, police staff, the governor and deputies, parliament members, the judiciary, and Ministry of Information who all made endless efforts to well monitor the election", Rezvani voiced.
Again mentioning that the general principle of the Councils' creation is to indicate that the Islamic Republic is endeavoring to equally manage the affairs, he reminded: in the latest round of the City Council, the city witnessed number of projects' establishments naming Isteqlal Sq., Ashkavand interchange, and some more.
He emphasized that some characteristics making councils succeed are honesty, unity, courageous, deploying past experiences, and interacting with people.
"We need to avoid individualism, biased and ethnical approaches", he confirmed, continuing: "as far as I know the councilors, I ensure that they will succeed in their way. City Councils owe their prosperity to the public's trust which leads into vaster elections in the future."
Presenting his closing remarks, the governor stressed: people elected the incoming council members, so their approach must not be taken for granted.
