IMNA English Desk: Martin Turk the film director and his son, Julijan Weiss Turk, who also acts in the film, gave me and the young Journalist Mojtaba Jabaroutian an interview about the festival and the city of Isfahan in particular.
What’s your viewpoint about holding the festival in Isfahan?
It is my first time to join a children film festival and I think it’s very interesting to see so many kids around. The atmosphere is very different, everything is more happy and alive.
Is it your first time to judge? (Dad is translating for his son)
It is nice to watch movies and judge. I was a little afraid at first. But as soon as we managed to go together and my dad could translate for me, things went better. Both of us are satisfied at the moment.
Is the city like what you had expected before taking the trip?
Son: I already knew we were travelling to Isfahan so I read a lot about it and I had a presentation at school about Isfahan. So it was a not a surprise.
How do like the idea of having teenage journalists covering the news of the current edition of the festival?
I think this is the main thing. I saw these young journalists in uniforms in screening rooms and it was very nice. Young jury members are from different countries but they can watch the same movie and this is how they are connected.
