He said US military vessels had been forced to remain more than 500 kilometers from Iran’s coastline and that no American warships were currently present in the Sea of Oman.
“US military vessels had been forced to remain more than 500 kilometers from Iran’s shores,” Akraminia said, attributing the withdrawal to the intelligence, operational capabilities and superiority of Iran’s armed forces.
The Army spokesman also rejected claims by the US president that Iran’s defensive capabilities had been weakened, emphasizing that extensive measures had been taken to upgrade and reinforce the country’s defense systems.
According to Akraminia, the Army’s Air Defense Force has developed and implemented new operational plans and upgraded its equipment under the supervision of the Air Defense Headquarters. These measures, he said, have played a significant role in enhancing the armed forces’ combat capabilities.
He added that new, integrated air defense operations had been designed and rehearsed to improve operational readiness and strengthen the ability to counter potential threats.
Akraminia said Iran’s air defense capabilities had undergone substantial changes compared with the period before the US-Israeli war against the country and during the conflict itself.
“Today, we have significantly strengthened the country’s air defense capabilities in terms of equipment and operational tactics,” he said.
The spokesman further noted that a considerable portion of the air defense equipment damaged during the war had been repaired and returned to service. He added that new systems had also been introduced, expanding the country’s air defense coverage.
He said the combined measures, including the restoration of damaged equipment, the deployment of new systems, the development of innovative operational methods and the implementation of new plans, had significantly enhanced Iran’s air defense capabilities compared with the past.
Akraminia also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation among regional countries to establish collective security arrangements. He said regional states should work together to develop a joint mechanism that would facilitate the withdrawal of US forces from the region.
“We believe that lasting peace, calm, and stability can be achieved only through the end of the US presence and interference in the region,” he said.
The United States and Israel launched military attacks against Iran on February 28, targeting senior Iranian officials and an elementary school in Minab, in southern Iran, where 168 children, teachers and parents were killed, according to the report.
Iranian armed forces responded with retaliatory strikes against US and Israeli assets in the region. The conflict ended after 40 days with a ceasefire, which was subsequently formalized in mid-June through the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding by the presidents of Iran and the United States.
The war imposed significant costs on the attacking sides, while they failed to achieve their stated objectives of subduing Iran or dismantling its defensive capabilities, the report said.
Iran has also maintained tight control over the Strait of Hormuz since the early stages of the second imposed war.
