SNSC Secretary Says US Response to Iran’s Seven Conditions Falls Short

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Major General Mohsen Rezaei, has described Washington’s partial acceptance of Iran’s seven conditions for ending the ongoing war as inadequate, stressing that Tehran expects full compliance with its demands.

Iran (IMNA) – In a post on X, Rezaei acknowledged that the United States had agreed to some of the conditions proposed by the Islamic Republic of Iran but said its response remained far below Tehran’s expectations.

“Iranian diplomacy has changed, and there will be no return to the status quo ante,” he said, emphasizing that Iran’s approach to Washington had undergone a fundamental shift and that partial concessions would not meet its requirements.

In a separate post, Rezaei criticized US President Donald Trump’s decision to launch the war, claiming that he had been misled by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and had acted on the assumption that Iran could be conquered.

Rezaei also referred to US attempts to resume maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that Washington had failed to achieve its objectives and had subsequently resorted to smuggling.

He further criticized the US military’s reported attempts to move commercial vessels through the strategic waterway without coordination with Iranian authorities.

The remarks come amid the implementation of a memorandum of understanding reached in Islamabad, which established a framework for halting the US-Israeli war against Iran.

Under the agreement, Washington committed to lifting its naval blockade, releasing frozen Iranian assets and ending military operations in exchange for the gradual normalization of maritime traffic. The memorandum also stipulated that commercial transit through the Strait of Hormuz would require coordination with and approval from Iran.

According to the report, US officials subsequently attempted to move commercial vessels through the strait without coordinating with Iranian authorities. Iranian Armed Forces responded by intercepting vessels they described as unauthorized and enforcing the arrangements established during the conflict.

Tehran maintains that its control over the Strait of Hormuz will remain in place until Washington fully implements all seven Iranian conditions.
