Iran's FM Spokesperson Condemns Israeli Forces' Atrocities in Gaza's Shifa Hospital, Calls for International Action

The spokesperson for Iran's foreign ministry, Nasser Kan'ani, has strongly criticized the recent atrocities committed by the Israeli forces in Gaza's Shifa Hospital. He expressed deep concern over the ongoing attacks on medical staff, patients, and displaced Palestinians within the hospital grounds.

Iran (IMNA) - Kan'ani stated that the people in and around Shifa Hospital, including patients, medical personnel, and Palestinian refugees, particularly women and children, have been under severe distress due to the inhumane siege imposed by the Israeli forces for a week. The situation in the hospital has only worsened as the Israeli forces have committed more heinous acts.

He shared that, "unfortunately, due to these brutal attacks and the prevention of essential food and medical supplies, 180 patients, medical staff, and Palestinian refugees in the hospital have lost their lives. The remaining individuals still face the risk of gradual deaths."

The spokesperson further highlighted the alarming reports of abuse, harassment, and killings of Palestinian women detained in the hospital. He called for immediate and decisive action by the international community, including the formation of an international investigative committee, to uncover the full extent of the Israeli war crimes within the hospital.

Iran strongly denounces the blatant violations of international laws, human rights, and humanitarian norms by the Israeli regime. The nation urges the global community and Islamic governments to support the oppressed Palestinian people, especially those trapped in the Gaza Strip. Kan'ani emphasized the need for swift, firm, and effective actions by governments and legal bodies to halt such crimes and prosecute those responsible and their supporters.
