Iran, Oman urge global agencies to stop Israel from conducting more atrocities against Palestinians

Iran and Oman's foreign ministers have urged international leaders to take robust and prompt measures to prevent Israel from committing more atrocities against the downtrodden Palestinians.

Iran (IMNA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Omani colleague Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi spoke over the phone on Sunday about bilateral relations and current developments in the Gaza Strip, where Israel has continued to commit war crimes for the past six months.

Amir-Abdollahian and Busaidi condemned Israel's continued atrocities in the Gaza Strip, particularly the regime's barbarous and inhumane blockade of al-Shifa hospital, which resulted in the deaths of patients and medical workers.

Israel initially stormed al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City in November, claiming that the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas utilised it as a command centre. Hamas authorities have repeatedly denied the charges.

On March 18, Israeli occupation troops launched a second series of strikes on the hospital facility and laid siege to it.

Prior to the current conflict, al-Shifa was the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip. It is presently one of the only partially working healthcare institutions in the north.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Gaza-based Hamas condemned the international world for its "shameful silence" on the Israeli military's attack on al-Shifa Hospital.
