Amidst the ongoing conflict, the United Nations has warned of potential famine in the Gaza Strip due to Israel's near-total siege, while UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged the Israeli regime to honor the spirit of Ramadan by ceasing hostilities.
The Israeli regime launched a military campaign against the Gaza Strip on October 7, following a surprise retaliatory operation conducted by Palestinian resistance groups into the occupied territories. Concurrently, Israel has enforced a near-total blockade on Gaza, severely limiting the supply of essential resources such as food, medicine, electricity, and water to the Palestinian territory. The United Nations recently issued a warning that, without intervention, Gaza may face an all-out famine due to the ongoing Israeli regime's "genocidal" actions.
Throughout the ongoing conflict, more than 31,112 Gazans have been killed, with a majority being women, children, and adolescents. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on the Israeli regime to respect the spirit of the holy month by halting hostilities.
