Gaza's Health Situation Plummets as Fuel Shortage Cripples Hospitals and Services

The Gaza Health Ministry has issued a dire warning about the worsening health situation in the northern part of the Palestinian territory, describing it as "extremely catastrophic" due to severe fuel shortages caused by Israel's ongoing war and siege.

Iran (IMNA) - In a statement released on Tuesday, the ministry painted a grim picture of hospitals running out of fuel, leaving medical refrigerators without electricity and jeopardizing the lives of patients relying on kidney dialysis and intensive care.

The statement elaborated that dozens of ambulances, civil defense vehicles, and medical services vehicles are out of service due to the fuel crisis. This alarming situation poses a significant threat to the already vulnerable population, particularly those with critical medical needs.

Furthermore, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) raised concerns about the deteriorating sanitary conditions in Gaza, describing the situation as "unsustainable." UNRWA highlighted the severe overcrowding in its shelters, the scarcity of clean water, the accumulation of solid waste, and the increasing prevalence of diseases.

The combined impact of the fuel shortage and poor sanitary conditions has created a dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, placing the lives of innocent civilians at grave risk. Immediate action is required from the international community to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, protect their fundamental rights, and resolve the underlying political and military conflicts that have contributed to this desperate situation.
